The American Board for Certification (ABC) is offering significant support for students and residents in the orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) field through two key scholarships for 2024. The ABC Orthotist & Prosthetist Scholarship provides $10,000 to students in CAAHEP-accredited master’s programs who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. The ABC Scholarship for O&P Diversity, also valued at $10,000, aims to foster diversity by supporting students from underrepresented racial or ethnic backgrounds. Eligibility Criteria for ABC Orthotist & Prosthetist Scholarships

1. ABC Orthotist & Prosthetist Scholarship ($10,000)

  • Enrolled: Full-time in a CAAHEP-accredited orthotist/prosthetist master’s degree program.
  • Completed: At least two semesters or three quarters of a CAAHEP-accredited orthotist/prosthetist program with a minimum 3.5 GPA.  
  • Limited to: One award per individual.
  • Financial need: Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident.

2. ABC Scholarship for O&P Diversity ($10,000)

  • Enrolled: Full-time and in good academic standing in a CAAHEP-accredited orthotist/prosthetist master’s degree program.
  • Completed: At least two semesters or three quarters of a CAAHEP-accredited orthotist/prosthetist program.  
  • Underrepresented: Must be a member of a racial or ethnic population underrepresented in O&P: Asian American, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native American or Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander.  
  • Limited to: One award per individual.
  • Financial need: Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
