International Research Support Initiative Program
SIX-MONTH RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan offers a six-month research fellowship abroad to full-time PhD scholars, enrolled in higher education institutions of Pakistan and AJK, through its International Research Support Initiative Programme (IRSIP). This Programme aims is strengthen the research capabilities of PhD scholars and promote linkages between Pakistani and foreign institutions & scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
✔Pakistani/AJK national enrolled full-time in a PhD at a
recognized Pakistani university.
✓Completed 18+ PhD credit hours and 18 months-3.5
years of PhD enrolment.
✔For Batch 60: enrolment must be between Spring
2023 and Spring 2025.
Passed GAT Subject Test or University Admission Test at PhD admission.
Approved PhD research topic and synopsis by
BASR/DASR or equivalent body.
Holds an an official acceptance/invitation letter from a foreign university/research institute.
Host institution must be in a developed country and ranked among top universities overall or by subject in THE or QS World University Rankings.
✔Foreign supervisor must not be a former supervisor of the applicant’s local PhD supervisor.
✔Foreign supervisor must be a full-time faculty member at Assistant Professor level or above.
